Video: Louisiana Residents Flee Homes in Advance of Planned Spillway Flooding

Thousands of people in parts of Louisiana are fleeting from their homes in advance of the planned opening of the Morganza Spillway. The spillway will be opened tomorrow in order to avert a Mississippi River disaster in places like Baton Rouge and New Orleans. If the spillway is not opened, New Orleans would be twenty feet under water in a disaster that would be worse than Hurricane Katrina.


In Butte LaRose, residents were told to take everything from their homes, as if they were moving permanently. Their homes will be fifteen feet under water for at least three months. Take a look:
