Nintendo is dropping the suggested retail price of its Wii console to $149.99. Starting May 15, the newly priced Wii system will come in either black or white with the Mario Kart Wii game and a matching colored Wii Wheel accessory, replacing the previously included Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort games.
Wii will also launch the Nintendo Selects, a set of Wii games prices at $19.99. The Nintendo Select games set includes Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers and Wii Sports.
The price drop was anticipated and had been rumored for months. Nintendo is also rumored to be working on a Wii 2 device. IGN has some of the details about the next version of the Wii here.
