Golf Great Seve Ballesteros Dies After Battle With Cancer

The golf world is mourning the loss of golf great Seve Ballesteros, who died of a brain tumor at the age of 54. He had been battling cancer for three years and had undergone surgery and chemotherapy. CNN's Don Riddell explains why Seve Ballesteros, who has died at the age of 54, was such an important influence on golf. Ballesteros won 87 titles, including five major tournaments. He won the U.S. Open three times, and was the first European to win the Masters, in 1980.

Tiger Woods tweeted about Seve's death, saying: "I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Seve Ballesteros. I always enjoyed spending time with him at the Champions dinner each year at the Masters. Seve was one of the most talented and exciting golfers to ever play the game. His creativity and inventiveness on the golf course may never be surpassed. His death came much too soon."
